Security Engineer II

Security Engineer (HYBRID) – Scott Air Force Base - Secret SOC is seeking a Security Engineer to join our customer’s team at Scott Air Force Base in O'Fallon, IL. As the Security Engineer you will provide technical support in vulnerability assessment, risk assessment, network security, product evaluation, and security implementation. You will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions that protect the confidentiality of sensitive information, assisting with security improvements, participating in the design of information system contingency plans, and conducting security product evaluations and recommendations. You will also perform technical evaluations of IT systems and help enhance security posture. Government tools such as eMASS will be used to support program accreditations under the Risk Management Framework (RMF). Basic Requirements Experience coordinating with development contractor security/system engineers and USTRANSCOM/DISA Security Office to resolve program security issues. Ability to conduct Technical Reviews of development contractor-produced security deliverables. Experience performing security activities to maintain authorization of the PMO programs. Experience using the DOD Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) system. Providing support to ensure PMO system(s) are designed, developed, and deployed in accordance with applicable Executive Orders, Federal Policy, DOD regulations, USTRANSCOM requirements, and commercial best practice. Performing vulnerability scans using ACAS, Nessus, and Fortify SCA, analyzing outputs to identify vulnerabilities, and recommending mitigation and remediation actions. Implementing DISA STIGs and verifying applications. Conducting and evaluating security testing activities, including security assessments, audits, and penetration testing. Supporting operational security activities such as firewall implementation, risk mitigation, host security, encryption, intrusion detection, VPN implementations, and incident responses. Hardening and securing servers and network devices. Coordinating overall security strategy with multiple agencies and Authorizing Official (AO) representatives. Qualifications Secret clearance required. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. One or more of the following IAM Level II certifications required: CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP, GSLC, CCISO, HCISPP. 3–5 years experience in security engineering.
