The Opportunity: Electrical Engineer is responsible for machine control hardware and software design, procurement of components, startup, debugging, calibration and verification. This individual will assist with the designing of electrical power and control systems for industrial and commercial equipment used in medical, pharmaceutical, alternative energy, semi-conductor and other industries. They will be supporting the NPI (New Product Introduction) group in the development of new product design and introduction, functional specifications, technical design, automated assembly, development and testing within PEKO and for our customers.Essential Functions:Create and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation.Develop and maintain PLC software for various applications, including automation, process control, and robotics.Assist in creating specifications, critical parameters and statement of work.Apply knowledge in electrical power transmission, controls systems, programing, wiring/panel design, automation for design and development.Conduct thorough electrical testing and troubleshooting to ensure system functionality and reliability.Utilize problem solving and creative thinking skills to develop solutions and implement design options with customers, suppliers and manufacturing, while working collaboratively within a team environment.Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software engineers, and technicians to integrate electrical systems into complete electromechanical assemblies.Participate in all phases of the product lifecycle, from concept and design to manufacturing, testing, and installation.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Understanding of PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell).Familiarity with electrical schematic design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).Experience with electrical testing equipment and procedures.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficiency with component selection and sizing for electrical systems (e.g.relays, circuit breakers, wire sizing, power supply sizing).Knowledge of text-based languages; C, Java.Knowledge of best practices for industrial controls, working knowledge of NFPA/NEC code for electrical system design.Preferred Qualifications:3+ years of experience in electromechanical hardware and software design and development.Knowledge of Python is a plusReports To: NPI Engineering Manager Work Authorization: US Persons PEKO Perks:Competitive CompensationTuition Reimbursement (IRS Allowable pre-tax Max)401K, Medical, Dental, VisionFlexible Spending & Health Savings AccountsLife, Short and Long-Term DisabilityRecognition Awards & Discretionary BenefitsOur Core Values:Compassion: We care about our talented and loyal PEKO family.Safety: We are committed to providing a safe, clean, and positive workplace.Integrity: We believe in transparency, honesty, and respect for all stakeholders.Agility: We are dedicated to maintaining an agile and financially prudent organization.Endurance:We foster the belief that PEKO people are resilient problem-solvers impacting the future.Get a glimpse of why we are #PEKOProud: #PEKOProud - YouTubeOther:This position may require you to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested or assigned, subject to all applicable state and federal laws. The wage range for this role considers a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational requirements.
