Compensation Range

The salary range for this position is between $180,000 and $320,000 . Please be aware that the final compensation may differ within this spectrum based on the candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and considerations of internal equity.

Position Overview

Our organization is in search of an Academic Neurologist-Epileptologist to join our team, which collaborates closely with the UMass Chan Medical School. This role is available on either a clinician or clinician-scientist track and involves joining a dynamic epilepsy group that provides both inpatient and outpatient services. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside specialists in neurosurgical treatments for epilepsy.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inpatient video-EEG monitoring.
• Serve on the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit service.
• Perform outpatient routine and ambulatory EEGs.
• Manage epilepsy patients in a clinical setting (note that sessions may be canceled during inpatient service weeks, continuous EEG service, vacations, and academic conferences).

Additional Opportunities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary epilepsy team, including epileptologists, advanced practice providers, social workers, nurse navigators, functional neurosurgeons, neuropsychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and neuroradiologists.
• Engage in the education of neurology residents and medical students at a highly regarded medical school (ranked #10 in Primary Care by US News), with a residency program that accommodates nine residents annually and approximately 200 medical students each year.
• Participate in a Junior Faculty Development Program that offers career guidance, promotion tracking, and research mentorship.
• Customize your career focus on clinical epilepsy, education for residents and medical students, and/or research initiatives.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree. Completion of a fellowship in Epilepsy or Clinical Neurophysiology is required, including experience with continuous video-EEG monitoring in inpatient environments such as ICUs and Epilepsy Monitoring Units. Experience with intracranial EEG monitoring is preferred.
