We are seeking an enthusiastic, driven, and hands-on General Manager to lead a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant operation in Charlottesville, VA . This is a unique seasonal leadership opportunity designed for strong operators who want to take full ownership of a business during a 32-week peak season, while also enjoying a meaningful off-season period for rest, personal growth, or other pursuits.

Compensation

• Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 annually (seasonal structure)

Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, and develop FOH and BOH teams to drive performance and consistency
• Oversee recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and retention
• Conduct performance evaluations and ongoing coaching
• Manage accountability, recognition, discipline, and team growth
• Build a strong, positive, high-performance culture focused on hospitality and execution

Operations Management

• Oversee all daily restaurant operations with a focus on efficiency and quality
• Maintain high standards in food safety, cleanliness, and guest experience
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and operational regulations
• Manage inventory, purchasing, ordering, and vendor relationships
• Identify operational gaps and implement improvements quickly and effectively
• Solve problems in real time with strong independent decision-making

Financial & Business Performance

• Full responsibility for P&L performance
• Drive revenue growth and profitability targets
• Manage labor, food cost, inventory variance, and controllable expenses
• Analyze financial and operational reports to guide decision-making
• Execute action plans to improve margins and efficiency
• Ensure labor scheduling aligns with budget goals while maintaining service standards

Guest Experience & Brand Standards

• Lead by example in delivering exceptional guest service
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently
• Monitor guest feedback and online reputation trends
• Maintain consistent execution of service and quality standards

Performance Expectations

Qualifications

Experience

• 3–5+ years of restaurant management experience with progressive leadership responsibility
• At least 2 years managing supervisors or large hourly teams

Skills

• Strong leadership and team-building capability
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong financial and business acumen (P&L ownership required)
• Ability to analyze data and drive operational improvements
• High-level problem-solving in fast-paced environments
• Commitment to hospitality excellence

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and move for extended shifts
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfort working in a high-volume environment

Schedule Requirements

• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work up to 60 hours/week during peak season (32 weeks)
• Extended off-season with significantly reduced workload
