Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM Buildings + Places Boston/New England’s architectural practice includes aviation, transit, research/science, higher education and federal/state/local government projects. We regularly work with other practices on the East Coast and are home to the East Region's architectural design and urban design leaders.AECOM is seeking a creative, experienced Architect III licensed in a New England state and eligible for reciprocity in other states. In this role they would help solve design and technical issues while leading task teams contributing to project delivery. Traditionally labelled “Job Captain” in the profession, a person in this role will be involved in project development and deliverables from conceptual studies through full design and construction administration, as well as guiding others to follow best practices in the same. As part of diverse teams, this role will help organize and execute business development efforts, meet client goals, and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards, in coordination with Project Managers, Lead Designers, Principals, BIM Leaders, QA/QC reviewers and other practice leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesLeads, organizes and produces architectural drawing and specification sets across SD, DD, CD, and CA phases, meeting client/design/firm goals and deadlinesApplies industry knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, codes, systems, principles and technical capabilities to solving issues, with senior staff support as neededHas a strong commitment to meeting responsibilities, plus a positive, helpful outlook and ideas to contribute to a teamPossesses strong skills acquired through advanced training, study and experienceProfessionally licensed in architecture or actively pursuing licensureUnder the direction of the Supervising Architect / Designer, completes assigned work independently and receives/applies general guidance and direction on new projects, tasks and prioritiesAnalyzes issues and identifies solutions using existing techniques, and proposes approaches for novel issuesCoordinates the work with other disciplines and other departments participating in an assigned projectExercises independent judgement in determining how work is performed; review and approve design direction as requiredProactively identifies and advocates for improvements to existing processes and proceduresExchanges information on sensitive matters and works to build consensus across teams and departmentsUnderstands stakeholders by anticipating their needs and ensures work results will have positive impactAdapts to new processes or changing assignments, and considers alternative approaches to complete workSupports development of concepts and text descriptions for proposals/business developmentProvides guidance and training to junior team members, and proactively reports to project managers, principals, and lead designers.Report to the Lead PM and PrincipalQualificationsMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Architecture and 4 years of experience in Architecture or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experienceActive Massachusetts Registered Architect (RA) license or one held in another New England state (NH, VT, ME, CT, RI)Preferred QualificationsU.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident due to the nature of our projects5+ years of Architecture experienceExperience in aviation, transportation, infrastructure, higher education, lab/science and/or Federal architectural projectsDemonstrated ability to lead and organize architectural drawing sets across SD, DD, CD, and CA phasesExperience in coordination and package completion on complex architectural projects.NCARB Certification and LEED AccreditationProficiency in Revit, Enscape and other BIM tools, Procore/Newforma/PMWeb and similar, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and graphic communicationsAbility to build strong working relationships with allStrong communication and presentation skills; adaptable to various audiencesExcellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detailGraphic skills and proficiency with software for wayfinding and signageAdditional InformationSponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.Relocation is not available for this position.At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
