Supervisor, Supported Employment / Production Area Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the supported employment / production area at New View Industries, located in Gillett, WI. Supervise and train Vocational Support Staff in their duties of job training to support clients and participants of New View services. Possess knowledge of job design, layout and quality control processes. Responsible for the procurement of jobs at New View Industries. Must understand and work with the values, mission, and vision of the agency. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to: Responsible for the supervision and training of Vocational Support Staff members and the daily oversight of the operations of the production and pre-vocational services area. Make recommendations which are given particular weight regarding the hiring and disciplinary actions for employees under his/her supervision. Performs annual performance evaluations of staff under his/her supervision. Directs and assists Vocational Support Staff to maintain production records, client timecards, and other needed documentation. Responsible for maintaining quality control, meeting production deadlines, and coordinating job planning. Observes working conditions and ensures efficiency in production using LEAN principles. Responsible for ongoing procurement of subcontract work by maintaining and developing strong working relationships with business and community partners. Responsible for bidding new jobs for customers and working to create formal job procedures for new jobs. Responsible for maintaining and assuring accuracy for all time studies and other regulations set by the Department of Labor. Must remain current with all Department of Labor regulations and laws as it pertains to sub-minimum wage guidance. Coordinates with Vocational Services Manager in renewing Federal and State sub-minimum wage certificates to meet DOL standards. Ensures Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) standards are being met. Works with case managers to ensure client protocols are being followed. Suggests changes as needed and participates in a team approach to developing appropriate work-related supports for clients. Oversee the client pre-vocational programming on the work floor and community, which may include day services activities, developing soft skills, and other independent living skills activities. Assist and oversee the client payroll procedure with assistance from the Administrative Assistant to ensure accuracy. Work with Administrative Assistant in the development of accounts receivable to ensure accurate invoices to customers. Work with maintenance personnel to ensure a safe working environment for clients and staff by enforcing safety policies and procedures. Maintain client confidentiality of information regarding individuals and families in accordance with agency, state, and federal regulations. Prepare for and respond to community emergencies including, but not limited to, natural and manmade disasters. Participate in a program of staff development to enhance professional skills and knowledge through training and ongoing performance evaluations. Perform all other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university; two to five years of practical work experience in sales, business, accounting or finance, supervision, quality control, task analysis, time and motion studies, engineering, or machine operation is recommended to set the basis to perform the duties of this position. High mechanical aptitude is beneficial. Mathematical background is needed to determine ratios for overhead and direct labor costs when bidding jobs. Training in vocational rehabilitation is preferred. Proficient computer utilization skills. Able to work with limited daily supervision and make accurate, rapid independent decisions regarding sales, bidding jobs, and scheduling jobs. Excellent organizational skills, high level of maturity, able to direct and influence the actions of others, self-direction and motivation required. Capable of being firm, but have sensitivity, and able to use tact and diplomacy in dealing with fellow employees, clients and their families, business representatives, guardians, the County Board Members, and other county and outside agencies.
