Job Description
The Non-Payment Paralegal plays a critical role in managing and processing nonpayment cases with a strong focus on rent-related legal actions. This position requires significant, hands-on experience in preparing and filing Rent Demands and Petitions to support the department’s efforts in addressing tenant nonpayment issues effectively.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file Rent Demands and Petitions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage nonpayment case documentation and maintain detailed case records.
- Ensure compliance with legal procedures and departmental guidelines during case processing.
- Collaborate with attorneys and other team members to support case strategy and resolution.
- Monitor case status and follow up on filings and court requirements as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Significant and substantial experience handling nonpayment cases, beyond minimal exposure.
- Direct experience preparing and entering Rent Demands and Petitions.
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures related to landlord-tenant nonpayment issues.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
