Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 4 to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA.This role is for a Systems Engineer, specializing in Systems Architecture, who will operate within a study, capture, or program execution effort and focus on driving consistency and alignment across technical thread capabilities to define a complete architecture solution.Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Conducting trade studies to evaluate design decisions and defining the resulting architecture.Allocating and validating requirements to develop specification products.Supporting modeling and simulation tools for performance analysis and evaluation of thread capabilities.Providing technical leadership for managing space and ground systems integration.Leveraging Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, methodologies, and workflows to develop, maintain, and validate system models as the technical baseline for the effort.Supporting the Systems Engineering team to define and document the system design, requirements, interfaces, and mission/operational concept within the MBSE tool suite.Basic Qualifications for Systems Engineer - Level 4:Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 8+ years of engineering experience ORMaster's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 6+ years of engineering experience ORPhD in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 4+ years of engineering experienceCandidate must be a U.S. Citizen, have an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance (or equivalent) at time of application and prior to start date, and have the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain an active SCI within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to the candidate's maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.Understanding of Systems Engineering processes including architecture and requirements development and interface definitionPreferred Qualifications for Systems Engineer - Level 4:Understanding and experience with Model Based Systems Engineering, Cameo Enterprise Architect, and SysML modeling (or equivalent)Understanding and experience with modeling and simulation approaches and toolsAbility to work in a collaborative team environmentStrong communication and time management skillsDetail-oriented and strong organizational skillsActive U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance (or equivalent) clearance along with active SCI access at time of application and prior to start date*This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to maintenance at the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.Primary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
