About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Pending License accepted Certifications: BCLS, ACLS required Must-Have: Must pass EKG exam Description: This is a 12-week assignment with the option to sign for 36 or 48 hours per week. The start date is approximately 3-4 weeks out based on compliance requirements. Patient to nurse ratios are 1:6. First-time travelers are welcome. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. Clinicians may float within their scope to meet facility needs. No block scheduling is available. Local candidates will not be accepted. Travelers must have a home address at least 75 miles from the facility. A maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) is permitted during the contract period. Special requirements include passing an EKG exam focused on the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience in medical-surgical and telemetry is preferred. The patient population includes those with diabetes, renal issues, COPD, abdominal rule outs, and cancer patients not receiving active chemotherapy. This unit does not care for surgical patients. Daily patient census is around 21, with 24 beds available. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Bedside procedures may include thoracentesis, paracentesis, and chest tube insertion. Travelers will need to comply with all necessary pre-start requirements. All travel staff are expected to fulfill contract terms in their entirety.
