Profession: LPN/LVN Specialty: Critical Care Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1-2 years of recent Critical Care Step Down/PCU experience required. License: Active LPN License required Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Recent experience caring for progressive care/step-down patients required. Experience with cardiac telemetry and continuous monitoring preferred. Must be comfortable caring for patients requiring high-flow oxygen, BiPAP/CPAP, post-procedural cardiac and vascular monitoring, and frequent assessments. Strong communication and teamwork skills required.

Description: Position available for an LPN/LVN in Critical Care Step Down. The role involves caring for patients with high-acuity needs. Patient ratios are typically 1:4-5, depending on unit census and acuity. Weekend and holiday shifts are required every other weekend and every other holiday. The clinician may float to similar acuity units based on facility needs. First-time travelers with three or more years of experience will be considered. Maximum of seven days of time off requested. All time off requests must be disclosed prior to submission. The facility may cancel up to one shift per two-week pay period. Experience with essential skills such as blood glucose monitoring, feeding tube care, Foley catheter insertion, oxygen administration, and vital sign monitoring is valuable. This position requires effective communication of patient status changes to the supervising RN or physician. Personal qualifications must include the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
