Light Path Law is a growing law firm in Fort Myers, Florida, and part of a multi-jurisdictional legal group with offices in Florida, Colorado and California. We are committed to providing high-quality, client-centered legal representation.

Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Civil Litigation Attorney to manage a civil litigation caseload from intake through resolution. The attorney will work closely with our paralegal and case management teams and report to the firm’s Chief Attorney.

Key Responsibilities

Manage an active civil litigation caseload from case evaluation through settlement or trial
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda
Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
Take and defend depositions; attend hearings, mediations and trial
Communicate regularly with clients about case status and strategy
Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel
Supervise and collaborate with paralegals and support staff on case preparation
Meet filing deadlines and maintain accurate case records

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.)
Active member in good standing of The Florida Bar
3+ years of civil litigation experience
Strong research, writing and oral advocacy skills
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred

Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Courtroom and trial experience
Experience with legal case management software
