Senior Accountant

DescriptionOur client, a private equity backed and quickly growing government contractor in the technology sector, is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team in Fairfax, Virginia. There is a solid runway for career growth and development given all of their recent positive developments including potential acquisitions. In this Senior Accountant role, you will play a vital part in supporting their financial close and accurate GAAP financial reporting. In this exciting new role, you will support an established leadership team and:Perform general ledger reconciliations, month end closing journal entries and ensure compliance with GAAPAssist leadership with contract revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606Conduct monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure timely and accurate financial closings.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable standards.Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries and accruals.Monitor and ensure accurate revenue recognition based on government contract terms and accounting standards (FAR and CAS)Apply and oversee indirect cost rates in line with provisional billing rates and incurred cost submissions.Assist in preparing incurred cost submissions and year-end audit workpapers.Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws, internal controls, and organizational policies.Collaborate on the development and implementation of new financial processes to enhance operational efficiency.Special projects as required by leadershipYour base pay will depend on your skills, experience and training, knowledge, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
