About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Local SEO Specialist to join our growing team at Mavan Agency!

In this role, you'll take ownership of the execution, quality, and performance of Local SEO campaigns across multiple client accounts. You'll work within our established SEO roadmaps and processes to ensure campaigns are executed effectively and consistently, with a strong focus on driving measurable results for our clients.

We are looking for someone who truly understands SEO, knows how to analyze performance, identify opportunities, and proactively recommend solutions when something isn't working, and not someone who simply checks tasks off a list.

While we have established strategies and systems in place, we value independent thinking and creative problem-solving. The ideal candidate knows how to follow a proven process but also has the experience and confidence to recognize when a different approach may be needed.

Goals of the Position

• Drive Measurable Results: Improve local search visibility, qualified organic traffic, rankings, leads, and conversions.

• Own Roadmap Execution: Ensure SEO campaigns follow established strategies and deliverables are completed effectively and with purpose.
\n
• Proactively Identify Opportunities: Analyze performance, recognize challenges, and recommend solutions before issues escalate.
\n
• Maintain Quality & Consistency: Ensure SEO work meets Mavan's quality standards and aligns with client objectives.
\n
• Support Team Execution: Provide clear direction, insights, and recommendations to internal teams.
\n
• Improve SEO Processes: Identify opportunities to strengthen and scale Mavan's SEO strategies, roadmaps, and workflows.
\n

Core Responsibilities

1. Local SEO Strategy & Roadmap Management

\n
• Own the execution and ongoing optimization of established SEO roadmaps across assigned client accounts.
\n
• Oversee Local SEO initiatives, including Google Business Profile optimization, local keyword targeting, Google Maps visibility, citations, and location-based SEO.
\n
• Guide on-page, technical, content, and off-page SEO efforts to improve organic visibility and lead generation.
\n
• Identify growth opportunities, competitive gaps, and areas where existing strategies may need adjustments.
\n
• Ensure all SEO activities are purposeful, aligned with campaign objectives, and executed to a high standard.
\n

2. Performance Analysis & Strategic Problem-Solving

• Analyze weekly and monthly SEO performance using GA4, GSC, SEMrush, Search Atlas, and other relevant tools.
\n
• Monitor keyword rankings, local search visibility, organic traffic, GBP performance, leads, and conversions.
\n
• Investigate performance fluctuations, identify root causes, and proactively recommend actionable solutions.
\n
• Recognize when standardized roadmaps may need adjustments and develop data-driven recommendations or alternative approaches.
\n
• Translate performance insights into clear priorities and next steps that contribute to measurable growth.
\n

3. Team Collaboration & Execution Oversight

• Collaborate with SEO specialists, content teams, Project Managers, and Account Managers to ensure effective campaign execution.
\n
• Provide clear direction on SEO priorities, deliverables, and expected outcomes.
\n
• Review SEO work for quality, accuracy, and alignment with campaign objectives.
\n
• Support Account Managers with performance insights, strategic explanations, and recommendations for client communication.
\n
• Proactively communicate risks, roadblocks, opportunities, and necessary strategy adjustments.
\n

4. Process Improvement & Innovation

\n
• Follow and support Mavan's established SEO SOPs, frameworks, and quality standards.
\n
• Identify opportunities to improve SEO roadmaps, workflows, and overall campaign effectiveness.
\n
• Stay current on Local SEO best practices, algorithm updates, AI search developments, and emerging industry trends.
\n
• Share successful tactics, testing insights, and recommendations that can be applied across multiple client accounts.
\n

Experience & Skills Required

\n
• 3–5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, with strong expertise in Local SEO.
\n
• Proven experience managing multiple SEO campaigns, preferably in an agency environment.
\n
• Strong understanding of Google Business Profile optimization, local ranking factors, on-page SEO, technical SEO, content optimization, and link building.
\n
• Proficiency with GA4, GSC, SEMrush, Search Atlas, Ahrefs, or similar SEO platforms.
\n
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate performance data into actionable recommendations.
\n
• Ability to independently investigate SEO challenges, identify opportunities, and recommend strategic solutions.
\n
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
\n
• Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership without constant supervision.
\n
• Experience with WordPress and project management tools such as ClickUp is preferred.
\n
• Familiarity with AI search optimization and evolving SEO best practices is a must.
\n

Role Details & Growth Opportunities

• Position: Part-Time, approximately 20 hours per week, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role.

• Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099).
