Jupiter Medical Center is the only hospital in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties to receive a 4-star quality and safety rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).**Education*** Graduate of an accredited Program preferred.* High school Graduate or Equivalent.* Two (2) years college preferred.**Experience / Qualifications*** Paramedic or EMT required.* Florida licensure required in respective modality.* Experience working as a Paramedic or EMT or equivalent in a health care setting.* American Heart Association BLS Certification for Health Care Provider.* Office setting experience or equivalent required.* Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.* Excellent Customer Service Skills.**Position Summary*** The Urgent Care Tech performs duties such as, but not limited to taking vital signs, prepares patient medical record for the provider.* Proficient in Phlebotomy* Proficient in Urgent Care duties.* Prepares patient medical record for the provider.* Accurately and efficiently performs specimen collections and testing as defined by laboratory policy and procedure manuals.* Computer data entry and workflow monitoring.* Assesses environment to assure patient safety.* Maintains chain of custody for forensic collections.* Performs surveillance exams: hearing tests, vision screening, spirometry, EKG.* Performs breath alcohol testing and urine drug screening.* Ensures accurate documentation.* Ensures adequate supplies and is knowledgeable in operation of equipment.* Ensures current credentials and /or certifications.* This position will cross train to support the front desk staff and responsibilities.* Ability to utilize more than one computer system for registration, patient test resulting and billing.* Verifies insurance eligibility.* Answers phone and faxes reports.* Maintains a clean environment.* Understands quality control and expected results for POCT tests performed.* Discharges patients efficiently.* Able to function under stress and emergency situations.* Promotes effective communications between patients, staff, physicians, and visitors.* Provides knowledge of Urgent Care injuries and illnesses and facilitates early return to work.* Maintains compliance with hospital/Urgent Care procedural standards.* Supports and promotes JMC mission, vision, and values.* Individually contributes to the team environment by demonstrating cooperative, constructive, problem-solving interaction with JMC policies.* This position must be a team player and able to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.* This position requires flexibility in travel amongst all Jupiter Medical Center Urgent Care locations.* Performs other duties as assigned.**Team Member Competencies**Establishing RelationshipsBuilds effective networks, working relationships, and alliances in order to collaborate effectively within department and organization. The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment.
