VP of Finance | Profitable, Hypergrowth CPG Brand (New York City Metropolitan Area)

Ember Search has been retained by a profitable DTC CPG brand that grew revenue 10x last year and is forecasting more than $50M in revenue in 2026.

We’re looking for a VP of Finance to help lead its next stage of growth, with meaningful equity and an expected path to CFO over the next year.

The company combines its own product development capability with an acquired manufacturer and direct customer relationships. You’ll have visibility across the entire business, with the opportunity to turn better financial decisions into stronger margins, cash generation and operating performance.

Growth so far has come through DTC. Amazon and retail are the next opportunities under consideration, and you’ll help shape the economics, investment priorities and pace of that expansion.

What you’ll own

You’ll work alongside an high caliber operating team, supported by an experienced consumer investor. The team values smart thinking, low ego and independent ownership. They want a finance leader who can challenge assumptions, make clear recommendations and follow through.

The scope also includes manufacturing investment, acquisition integration, financing and preparation for potential future transactions. It’s an opportunity to build substantial CFO experience while participating in the value you help create.

• Lead financial planning, forecasting and reporting, building a model that connects growth plans with profitability, cash and investment needs.
• Partner directly with the CEO on capital allocation, commercial priorities and strategic decisions.
• Drive insight into product margins, customer acquisition economics and channel profitability.
• Help shape Amazon and retail expansion, including marketing investment, working capital requirements and potential channel cannibalization.
• Partner with operations on manufacturing costs, capacity, inventory and the integration of the acquired manufacturer.
• Evaluate major capital investments, including improvements to existing facilities and potential new manufacturing locations.
• Work with the Controller and external partners to strengthen financial infrastructure, controls and audit readiness.
• Support board reporting, financing and transaction preparation, and shape the finance team as the business grows.

Who we’re looking for

You’ve helped scale a consumer, CPG, DTC or other physical-product business and are ready for broader ownership.

You may already lead finance or be a strong number two ready to step into a CFO seat. You can build the model yourself, understand the operational drivers behind the numbers and turn analysis into decisions.

Experience with inventory, manufacturing economics, working capital and cash management will be valuable, alongside exposure to audits, financing, acquisitions or transactions.

Above all, you bring sound judgment, low ego and the ability to stay steady through rapid growth. You enjoy working closely with commercial and operational teams and taking responsibility for the outcome.
