About the Position

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (3x12 Hours, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a NICU setting with an average daily census of 30 patients
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:3, delivering safe and effective neonatal nursing care
• Float to Mother Baby and Pediatrics units as needed based on staffing requirements
• Participate in every-other-weekend coverage rotation
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly using Epic electronic health records
• Be prepared to serve on an emergency response or relief team in the event of a declared emergency, as directed by unit management

Required Qualifications

• Active Compact or Louisiana RN license in hand at time of submittal
• BLS and NRP certifications required (AHA certifications required)
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required for previous travelers; minimum 3 years required for first-time travelers
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system
• Current NURSYS report submitted with profile (must be within 4 weeks of submission date)
• Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (address on driver's license to site address) — local travelers are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in a NICU or related neonatal specialty
• Familiarity with a wide range of neonatal patient diagnoses and procedures
• Experience floating to Mother Baby or Pediatrics units
