Medical Assistant (MA)

A healthcare organization is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to support both clinical and administrative patient care in a busy clinic setting on Staten Island.
About the Opportunity:- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8am to 5pm (with occasional late evenings until 8pm)
- Setting: Clinic
- Support patient flow by greeting patients, managing check-in and check-out, and addressing registration needs
- Provide front desk support by answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and taking accurate messages
- Assist with direct patient care under clinical supervision, including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, maintain supplies, and ensure documentation is completed accurately
- Document patient care in the EMR, support referrals and outreach efforts, and help coordinate follow-up communication
- 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA)
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program or eligibility to sit for the national certification exam and pass within 18 months of hire
- Experience in an Ambulatory Care setting
- Experience using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
- Working knowledge of Epic EMRS
