Are You Someone Who Likes to Get Out From Behind a Desk?

We're looking for a hands-on IT Field Technician who enjoys variety, solving problems, working with technology, and being out in the field.

This is not a traditional desk-based IT support role. You'll travel to different client locations, work with your hands, install and troubleshoot equipment, and help keep client environments running smoothly. One day you may be troubleshooting a network issue, and the next you could be installing equipment, running cable, or working on a project at a new location.

If you enjoy working with technology, getting your hands dirty, being up on ladders, using power tools, and having a different environment from day to day, we'd love to hear from you.

 

What You'll Do

• Travel to various client sites to provide onsite IT support and services
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain IT equipment
• Install and mount network and technology equipment
• Run, terminate, and troubleshoot network cabling and data drops
• Assist with network infrastructure and technology installations
• Use hand tools and power tools to complete installations and projects
• Safely work from ladders when installing or servicing equipment
• Diagnose hardware, network, and connectivity issues
• Troubleshoot problems independently and research solutions when needed
• Work alongside other technicians on larger projects
• Communicate directly with clients and provide professional, friendly service
• Document work completed and maintain accurate service tickets
• Maintain tools, equipment, inventory, and company vehicles in an organized condition

 

This Role Requires You To Be Comfortable With

• Traveling: You'll be traveling to different client locations throughout the workweek. Every day may look a little different.
• Ladders: You'll regularly use ladders to install and service equipment.
• Tools: You should be comfortable using hand tools and power tools or be willing to learn.
• Physical Work: This is an active position that requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, and lifting equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Customer Interaction: You'll represent our company at client sites, so professionalism, communication, and customer service are extremely important.

 

What We're Looking For

• Previous IT, technical, cabling, telecommunications, low-voltage, or field service experience
• CompTIA A+ or other relevant certifications are a plus
• Basic understanding of networking concepts
• Comfortable working with computers, hardware, and technology
• Comfortable using tools and learning new equipment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for help
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• Reliable, dependable, and organized
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Comfortable traveling between multiple client locations
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position
