Speech-Language Pathologist

Qualifications: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Illinois state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred. Experience working with children, particularly in a school setting, is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of speech and language development, assessment techniques, and intervention strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. Familiarity with special education laws and practices. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Reports To: Director of Student Services

Position Summary: The Speech-Language Pathologist will work with students in grades K-8 to assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders, fostering effective communication skills essential for academic success and social interaction.

Essential Functions:

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify students' speech and language needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's goals and requirements.
• Provide direct therapy services to students, focusing on articulation, fluency, language development, and social communication skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to integrate strategies into classroom instruction and everyday activities.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure effective outcomes.
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams.
• Case manage IEP plans and interventions
• Educate staff and parents on communication strategies and the importance of speech and language development.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations regarding service delivery and documentation.

Environmental Conditions: Classroom-based with regular interaction throughout the school. Attendance at meetings and events outside regular school hours.

Physical Context of the Job: Regular travel within the school building and occasional off-site meetings.

Terms of Employment: Full-time position. Expected Salary Range: $65,000-$95,000 Salary and benefits commensurate with experience and locally competitive.
