Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical and Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: 1 Year of Experience within the Last 3 Years in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry License: Oregon RN License Pending Licensure Accepted Certifications: BLS Required Must-Have: Telemetry Experience Description: Position/Specialty: RN, Medical/Surgical and Telemetry Ratios: 1:4-6 First-timers Accepted: Yes Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend Clinician May Float to Meet Facility Needs: Yes Open to Accommodating Block Schedule: No The position involves caring for patients who present with a wide range of diagnoses. Common patient conditions include electrolyte imbalance, anemia, chest pain, transient ischemia, and infection. Nurses will manage telemetry, interpret cardiac rhythms, and provide care for patients experiencing dysrhythmias. Responsibilities also include managing oxygen protocols, administering non-invasive airway management, and peripheral line care. Maintaining isolation precautions and rapid response team activation is essential. The staffing ratios are as follows: RN: 1:4-6 CNA: 1:6-13 on days, 1:10-13 on nights The unit serves adults and geriatric patients. Daily census averages 30 patients. The unit focuses on observation care, accommodating a significant portion of the patient population. Essential skills include the interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, and understanding of telemetry.
