Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Coordinator to join a collaborative and experienced accounting team in New Castle, PA. This Accounting Coordinator role supports both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring accurate financial transactions and maintaining smooth day-to-day accounting operations in a structured environment.

The ideal Accounting Coordinator is dependable, organized, and comfortable managing high-volume transactional accounting tasks while working closely with internal teams and leadership.

Accounting Coordinator Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

• Process and enter vendor invoices accurately into the accounting system
• Match invoices with purchase orders and supporting documentation
• Apply correct coding and payment terms
• Identify and resolve discrepancies, including duplicate invoices
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Respond to internal inquiries and support cross-functional teams

Accounts Receivable

• Process and post customer payments, including lockbox transactions
• Reconcile payment details and ensure accurate account application
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due balances
• Investigate and resolve customer payment discrepancies
• Communicate account status updates with internal stakeholders
• Support financial reporting and documentation efforts

Accounting Coordinator Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable experience
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, high-volume environment
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience with QuickBooks preferred
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Experience with Bill.com or ERP systems is a plus

Accounting Coordinator Work Environment & Schedule

• Standard schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
• 30-minute unpaid lunch break
• Collaborative and team-oriented accounting department
• Some scheduling flexibility may be discussed during the interview process
