Accounting Coordinator

The Accounting Coordinator supports the accounting department by handling both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions. This role is responsible for processing invoices, posting payments, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions.

The position works closely with a small, experienced team and reports directly to the Accounting Supervisor. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to manage transactional accounting tasks efficiently.

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Process and accurately enter vendor invoices
• Match invoices with purchase orders and supporting documents
• Apply proper coding and payment terms
• Identify and resolve discrepancies (e.g., duplicate entries)
• Assist with month-end and year-end close
• Respond to internal inquiries and provide support

Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Process and post customer payments (including lockbox transactions)
• Reconcile payments and ensure accurate application
• Monitor AR aging and follow up on past-due accounts
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies
• Communicate account status with internal teams
• Support reporting and financial documentation

Qualifications & Experience

• 2+ years of AP and/or AR experience (both preferred)
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment

Technical Skills

• QuickBooks (preferred; ~1 year experience ideal)
• Microsoft Office Suite:
  • Excel
  • Word
  • Outlook

Nice to Have

• Experience with Bill.com
• Experience with ERP systems
