Off-Road Dump Truck Operator

This contract-to-hire position offers the opportunity to operate off-road dump trucks on large commercial and civil construction projects based in Lebanon, Indiana. You will transport earth and rock within an active job site, supporting major earthwork and earth-moving operations in a high-safety, professional environment. The role requires long hours, travel flexibility, and a strong commitment to safe equipment operation and site protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate off-road dump trucks to haul earth and rock within the commercial job site, staying entirely on-site and not on public roads.
• Safely and efficiently load and unload dirt and other materials, including pulling behind scrapers as needed.
• Support earthwork and earth-moving activities in a large open field environment as part of a civil construction project.
• Follow a strict work schedule of approximately 1012+ hours per day, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, with the possibility of extended hours on Saturdays.
• Maintain readiness to travel and transfer to other job sites, including out-of-state locations, when requested.
• Operate equipment in accordance with all safety protocols and OSHA standards, including adherence to the site code of conduct.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers to coordinate truck movements and ensure safe operations amid high site activity.
• Remain constantly aware of surroundings to avoid hazards and prevent incidents; avoid distracted operating at all times.
• Conduct basic pre-operation checks and report any equipment or safety issues promptly.
• Present a professional appearance and demonstrate professional behavior in line with site expectations.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in operating heavy equipment, specifically off-road dump trucks used in earthwork and earth-moving operations.
• Experience working in commercial and civil construction environments, particularly on earthwork and earth-moving projects.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to submit to and pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
• Ability to work 1012+ hour days, Monday through Saturday, in an outdoor construction environment.
• Strong awareness of safety practices and willingness to follow OSHA standards and site-specific safety protocols.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with site personnel and maintain safe operations.
• Ability to remain attentive and focused while operating equipment in a busy, high-activity job site.

• Willingness to travel and work at different job sites, including out-of-state locations, as project needs require.
• Capability to be insured to operate company vehicles for travel to other job sites, providing access to a wider range of opportunities across multiple regions.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts and extended hours, including long days and occasional schedule changes.
• Comfort working in changing and sometimes extreme weather conditions, including hot, humid summers and cold, snowy winters.
• Professional demeanor, including adherence to site code of conduct and expectations for appearance and behavior.

Work Environment

The primary work site is a civil construction project located on open farmland in Lebanon, Indiana. You will work entirely on-site in a large open field, operating off-road dump trucks to move earth and rock within the project boundaries. The environment is fully outdoors and subject to all Indiana weather conditions, including hot, humid summers with potential for sudden thunderstorms, and winters with cold rain, freezing rain, snow, wind, and extreme cold temperatures. The site follows rigorous safety protocols in accordance with OSHA standards, and there is a high level of activity with multiple pieces of equipment and personnel operating simultaneously. Communication and situational awareness are critical, and distracted operating is not tolerated. Professional appearance and professional behavior are expected at all times in line with the site code of conduct, which will be explained during onboarding.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sparks, NV.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
