Registered Nurse – Endoscopy Location: AllCare Medical Services, Columbia, South Carolina, US Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Endoscopy for a 13‑week travel assignment in Columbia, South Carolina. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing various endoscopic procedures in a dynamic healthcare setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for patient assessment, procedural assistance, monitoring during conscious sedation, and post‑procedure recovery care. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient well‑being within a specialized procedural unit. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures (e.g., colonoscopy, EGD, bronchoscopy). Assess patient health status pre‑procedure, including medical history, allergies, and readiness for sedation. Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to sterile technique. Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage conscious sedation as per facility protocols and physician orders. Provide post‑procedure recovery care, monitor for complications, and deliver clear, concise discharge instructions to patients and their families. Maintain sterile technique and ensure proper handling, cleaning, and reprocessing of endoscopic equipment. Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record. Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Carolina. Minimum of 1–2 years of recent experience in an endoscopy unit or similar procedural setting. Skills & Competencies Proficiency in pre‑procedure assessment, intra‑procedure assistance, and post‑procedure recovery care for endoscopy patients. Competence in conscious sedation administration, monitoring, and emergency management. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to operate and troubleshoot endoscopic equipment and patient monitoring devices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient education and team collaboration.
