Job Title: Material Handler Forklift Operator

Job Description

Join our dynamic warehouse team where you will perform a variety of tasks in a small warehouse environment. Your role will include picking orders using a cherry picker, material handling with pallet jacks, and engaging in packing, labeling, shipping, and receiving activities.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and fill orders for shipment to customers or other divisions.
• Load and unload common carrier and company vehicles.
• Assemble customer orders for UPS/LTL shipping.
• Process paperwork for shipments, ensuring merchandise accuracy, applying correct postage, and completing BOL information for LTL shipments.
• Follow customer shipping instructions and insure shipments as necessary.
• Gather, verify, and document quantities and descriptions of assembled orders.
• Pack orders into containers and organize them on shelves according to truck routes.
• Verify quantities and items against invoices.
• Substitute for other warehouse personnel as needed.
• Utilize a scanner for warehouse management, order picking, and general material put-away.

Essential Skills

• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift.
• Capability to lift 50-75 lbs multiple times per shift.
• Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with stand-up reach truck or cherry picker (preferred).
• Forklift operation and RF scanner experience.
• Proficiency in loading, unloading, shipping, receiving, and order picking.
• Steel-toed shoes are required.
• Knowledge of forklift or electrical products is beneficial but not required.

Work Environment

You will work in a small warehouse operation that is not temperature controlled, but large fans are available to keep the space cool. The standard shift is Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5:30 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
