Job Summary: The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing daily accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting the CFO with financial reporting. This role is hands-on, managing a small team and ensuring timely month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements. Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the CFO and leadership team. Assist the CFO with daily cash flow analysis and bank reconciliation. Evaluate and recommend financial software and process improvements. Supervise the processing of vendor invoices, payments, and employee expense reimbursements. Monitor accounts receivable collections and assist in cash flow management. Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulations. Assist in audits, collaborating closely with external auditors and tax professionals. Implement and maintain internal controls to mitigate financial risks. Ensure compliance with tax reporting requirements in collaboration with external tax professionals. Assist the CFO in budget preparation and variance analysis. Provide financial insights and reporting to support decision-making. Support department heads in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts. Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accurate work and professional growth. Provide training and guidance on accounting policies and procedures. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. This is a Full-time position. Workdays are primarily Monday - Friday. Attendance of mandatory meetings and training as needed. Travel: Occasional travel is required for this position. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred but not required. 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Proficiency with Cost Accounting. Experience with Manufacturing. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite). Advanced Excel skills for reporting and analysis. Soft Skills: Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience working with Tribally owned businesses. Native American preference will be applied to hiring of this position as defined in Title 25, U.S. Code, Chapter 14, Subchapter V, subsection 273 & 274.
