As Senior Manager, Global Trade Compliance, you’ll lead the company’s global trade compliance strategy for a multi-jurisdictional manufacturing organization. This role ensures compliance with international import/export laws, sanctions, customs regulations, tariff programs, and emerging ESG requirements. Reporting to the VP of Tax & Trade, this leader serves as the company’s subject‑matter expert on global trade compliance, advising senior leadership while implementing practical, scalable processes that protect the business and support growth. This is a hybrid position based out of our Global HQ in Rosemont, IL – M/F remote and T-Th are in‑office collaboration days. Primary Responsibilities Global Trade Compliance Develop and manage the global import/export compliance program. Oversee denied party screening, embargo controls, ECCN/HTS classification, country of origin, valuation, marking, and record retention. Ensure compliant import procedures across all facilities. Lead tariff mitigation strategies, including Free Trade Agreements and Duty Drawback programs. Integrate trade compliance into new product launches and enterprise initiatives (e.g., PACE). Support M&A due diligence and post-acquisition integration. Participate in Data Governance and cross‑functional compliance councils. Regulatory & Business Advisory Monitor global sanctions, export controls, customs regulations, and trade restrictions. Advise senior leadership on regulatory changes and business impact. Recommend and implement process improvements aligned to evolving requirements. ESG & Governance Lead compliance efforts related to CSRD, CBAM, and other applicable ESG regulations. Partner with Finance and Sustainability to ensure reporting accuracy and audit readiness. Lead internal and external trade compliance audits and corrective actions. Develop compliance training and maintain global trade policies and procedures. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Licensed Customs Broker preferred. 10+ years of global trade compliance experience in a manufacturing environment. 5+ years of team leadership experience. Strong expertise in customs regulations, export controls, sanctions programs, and FTAs. Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and operate cross‑functionally in a global organization. Salary & Benefits The salary range for this position, intended for U.S. applicants, is $109,400 - $153,800 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities. The salary range is based on a primary work location of Rosemont, IL and may vary for applicants in a different geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in Life Fitness / Hammer Strength’s annual Manager Incentive Plan to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of bonus varies based on company and individual performance goals and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
