Project Manager

Overview:

My client is seeking an experienced and dynamic project manager with a specialization in power generation and data center projects. This role is instrumental in orchestrating the planning, execution, and successful delivery of cutting-edge construction initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, resource management, and client relationship skills, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Planning and Strategy:
  • Formulate comprehensive project strategies encompassing scope, objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project goals and success criteria.
• Resource Management:
  • Lead and manage diverse project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Oversee subcontractor selection and coordination to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Budget and Cost Control:
  • Establish and manage project budgets, continuously monitoring and controlling costs.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage change orders effectively.
• Scheduling and Timeline Management:
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project.
  • Monitor project progress, anticipate potential delays, and implement corrective measures.
• Quality Assurance:
  • Implement rigorous quality control processes to ensure construction meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
  • Documenting and resolving any quality-related issues promptly is essential.
• Risk Management:
  • Identify project risks and develop comprehensive mitigation plans.
  • Proactively address and mitigate potential issues to minimize their impact.
• Client Relations:
  • Act as the primary client interface, managing expectations and ensuring satisfaction through regular updates.
  • Effectively handle client inquiries, issues, and change requests.
• Project Reporting:
  • Prepare and distribute detailed project status reports, performance metrics, and updates to stakeholders.
  • Lead project meetings and present status to senior management.
• Contract Management:
  • Review project contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to manage contractual aspects and resolve disputes.
• Estimating:
  • Independently prepare accurate cost estimates for industrial construction projects, including detailed material take-offs, labor and equipment costs, and subcontractor bids.
  • Ensure estimates are comprehensive and align with project requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field; a master's degree is advantageous.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in project management within the construction industry, with a proven track record of managing medium to large-scale projects.
• Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and client relationship-building abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations, and safety standards.
