Child Protective Services Casework Supervisor

Position Overview Position Number: 02022-7752 Salary: $77,542.40 – $103,064.00 per year (incl. $7.50/hr stipend, optional $1.00/hr for related Master’s Degree). Grade: 27 (Supervisory Services). Opening Date: June 8, 2026 – Closing Date: June 22, 2026. Location: Lewiston office. Core Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, direct, and monitor the activities of caseworkers and support staff in child protection, adoption, and substitute care. Assess and assign casework loads; review, monitor, and provide guidance to staff concerning cases and service delivery. Research and work with staff and peers to resolve critical and crisis situations. Ensure established quality service standards are maintained. Confound with and counsel workers regarding casework, assisting with difficult cases and caseload problems. Review and compare staff performance and/or product with established standards to assess productivity levels and training needs. Connect with other agencies and community resources to coordinate services, promote resources, and monitor cooperative agreements. Evaluate and recommend program‑wide changes and establish unit procedures and goals to upgrade quality and continuity of services. Coordinate activities between unit and service providers to deliver services to clients. Authorize service provision and client/caseworker expenditures. Negotiate contracts and agreements with service providers to ensure appropriate services. Analyze and review cases to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, initiatives, and requirements, and participate in court hearings. Direct, coordinate, and/or participate in after‑hours coverage to ensure appropriate staffing. Minimum Qualifications Eight (8) years of education and/or professional experience in social work, including at least two (2) years experience as a fully licensed social worker (LSW). (An LMSW or LCSW automatically satisfies the two‑year LSW requirement.) Licensing / Registration / Certification Licensed Social Worker (LSW) required. A Master’s degree is preferred. Preferred Experience Recent professional child welfare casework experience. Thorough knowledge of and recent experience with MACWIS/Katahdin. Four years experience as a fully‑licensed social worker.
