Corporate Tax Accountant (ID# 5333)

Direct hire role, fully on-site Monday through Friday. Seeking a Corporate Tax Accountant.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Tax Accountant with experience in business tax compliance and state and local taxation (SALT). This role will focus on preparing business tax returns across multiple states, supporting tax compliance initiatives, and researching state-specific tax regulations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with corporate and pass-through entity tax returns and an understanding of multistate tax requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare federal and multistate business tax returns, including Forms 1120, 1120-S, and 1065.

Assist with state and local tax (SALT) compliance, including corporate income, franchise, and other applicable business taxes.

Prepare and review multistate tax filings, apportionment calculations, and state allocation schedules.

Research state-specific tax laws, filing requirements, nexus, and compliance obligations.

Assist with quarterly estimated tax payments, extensions, and tax provision calculations.

Prepare book-to-tax adjustments, tax reconciliations, and supporting workpapers.

Monitor changes in federal and state tax regulations and assess their impact on business tax filings.

Support tax audits, notices, and inquiries from state and federal taxing authorities.

Coordinate with internal accounting teams and external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely filings.

Maintain organized tax documentation and meet all applicable filing deadlines.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

1–2.5 years of experience in corporate or business tax preparation, public accounting, or multistate tax compliance.

Hands-on experience preparing business tax returns, including Forms 1120, 1120-S, and/or 1065.

Knowledge of state and local taxation (SALT) and multistate filing requirements.
