Our customers look for us to provide a quality product and produce our product in a timely manner. Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mobile Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in repair and maintenance, with the ability to diagnose and fix a variety of vehicle & equipment issues on-site. This role requires excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently in diverse environments. Job Responsibilities On‑Site Diagnostics and Repairs: Perform diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment. Repairs and maintains construction equipment of various types and sizes from light‑duty to heavy‑duty (class 8) trucks and from light‑duty to heavy duty operating equipment. Emergency Assistance: Provide roadside assistance for vehicles that have broken down, including repairs and towing coordination if necessary. Vehicle & System Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance following OEM specifications as well as electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams. Remove and replace defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools. Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition and properly maintained. Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functioning when used. Occasionally fabricate, weld and cut parts, using arc‑welding/ wire feed and flame cutting equipment. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Perform DOT inspections. Perform related and other duties as requested. Skills and Qualifications Technical Expertise: Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in a mobile service role. Diagnostic Skills: Strong ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical issues with vehicles and equipment. Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions. Problem‑Solving: Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. High School Diploma or GED. Welding and fabrication experience preferred not required. Must have a valid driver’s license; a CDL license is preferred. Must have a good driving record with no major violations within the last 5 years or be accepted by the company insurance policy provider to drive PLP company vehicles. Position Requirements Must comply with PLP Company Substance Abuse Policy and DOT Drug Control Program, which includes pre‑employment and random drug and/or alcohol testing. Must have experience with diesel engines, gas engines and hydraulics. Must have manual‑hand‑finger dexterity. Must have eye‑hand‑foot coordination. Must be able to lift and/or transport +50 pounds. Must be willing to work days, nights, weekends, and occasional travel. 10hr+ workdays / 40hr+ work weeks. Exhibit teamwork. Key Competencies Honest, trustworthy, dependable. PUNCTUAL.
