Self-Pay Billing Specialist

Manage daily billing functions for assigned patient and insurance companies. Coordinate the interaction between patients and payors to facilitate timely reimbursement. Serve as a point of contact for billing problem solving. In depth knowledge of carrier Clinical Coverage Policies (CCP) and Billing Coverage Policies (BCP).

Specific responsibilities include maintaining accounts receivable KPIs, reviewing and resolving denied patient insurance claims, managing online payment portals, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Key competencies include communication skills, decision making, healthcare knowledge, interpersonal skills, organizational values, and problem solving.

Specified skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to use Allscripts products and various insurance company websites. Spanish speaking skills are preferred.

Physical demands include sedentary work with occasional lifting and pushing/pulling of carts.

Supervisory responsibilities are not applicable.

Education and experience requirements include an associate degree in business, health administration, or a related field, with three years of relevant experience in dental or a comparable combination of education and/or experience.

Schedule requirements include regular attendance on-site with typical business hours of Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional weekend, holiday, or evening coverage.

Position compensation is $23.65/hour, full time with full benefits available. MAHEC is a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program.
