Aquent is partnering with a leading global apparel retailer to hire an Assistant Manager, Fabric R&D for a contract opportunity. This role sits at the intersection of product development, sourcing, costing, and cross-functional collaboration, helping bring apparel products from concept to production. What You'll Do

• Support apparel product development from concept through production
• Coordinate with Design, Merchandising, Fabric Development, and Sourcing teams
• Communicate regularly with Asia-based manufacturing and sourcing partners
• Develop and maintain garment costing estimates
• Manage BOMs and product information within PLM systems
• Monitor key product-to-market milestones and escalate risks
• Support vendor capability and sourcing strategies
• Resolve product execution challenges throughout development

What You'll Bring

• Experience in apparel product development, sourcing, or product creation
• Understanding of garment costing and margin considerations
• Experience working with overseas factories or sourcing teams
• Knowledge of PLM systems and BOM management
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Ability to work effectively across multiple functions
• Excellent communication skills

Nice To Have

• Experience with woven or knit fabric development
• Background with major apparel retailers or brands
• Sustainability or material innovation exposure
• Experience supporting global product creation teams

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $24 to $26.67/hr. Compensation is based on several factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
