The Maintenance Mechanic I makes an impact by performing troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment. Ability to repair equipment during breakdowns. Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work orders to plan, layout and complete work. Use tools ranging from common hand tools and power tools, such as hammers, saws, drills and wrenches to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic devices. Inspect, operate, or test faulty machinery or equipment. Basic ability to inspect or test programmable controllers and motors to diagnose machine malfunctions using voltmeters or other troubleshooting tools. Maintain accurate documentation of assignments, machine repairs, parts inventory utilizing the site CMMS. Work effectively with department and cross-functional teams to define and implement process improvements that provide value to the customer. Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements. Follow Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP), Plant Safety Regulations, Quality Control Standards and plant policies. Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) 2000 Systems.

Physical Demands- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The employee is required to talk and/or hear in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are high (PPE required). The employee is required to wear mandated PPE based on assigned job area. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an manufacturing environment for 8+ hours. The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks. Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks. The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment. Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required. Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus. Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or push/pull 50 pounds on a regular basis.
