Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nursing in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This role involves providing acute care to diverse patient populations ranging from neonates to geriatrics within a busy emergency department setting, including staffing a 10-bed observation unit. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, operationally complex facility requiring strong clinical skills and adaptability.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts from 20:00 to 08:30
• Schedule: Nights, 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 10/05/2026
• End Date: 12/28/2026
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license for MD state or a valid compact license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI certifications, and two or more years of emergency room experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, Epic electronic medical record experience, and trauma level I or II certification.
• Staffing & Scheduling: Every other weekend required, holidays as scheduled, float within ER and hold/observation units, no pre-scheduled on-call shifts.
• Patient Ratios: 4 patients per nurse during day and night shifts; additional staffing in hold/observation area with ratios of 1:5 or 1:6 depending on acuity.
• Additional Responsibilities: Staffing a 10-bed observation unit, managing complex diagnoses, and adhering to protocols for various emergency conditions.
• Compliance: Active MD or Compact RN license, CPI certification, BLS/ACLS/PALS based on AHA, NRP or AAP accepted, onboarding labs within 72 hours, compliance documents due five days before start.
• Experience Requirement: 2 years in emergency nursing or relevant clinical background.
• Note: Candidates must be comfortable floating within scope and handling high patient volumes in a non-trauma ER environment.
