Tortilla Packaging Associate

Pay Rate: $17.15 per hour

Job Summary

Seeking dependable and hardworking Tortilla Packaging Associates to join our food production team. Employees will assist with packaging tortilla products, preparing boxes, shrink-wrapping finished products, and organizing products for shipment. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

No previous experience is required, although food production or packaging experience is preferred. We are looking for motivated individuals who are ready to learn, follow instructions, and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Pack tortilla products according to company standards.
• Remove tortillas from the conveyor belt and assist with production line activities.
• Assemble boxes and prepare packaging materials.
• Break down and properly dispose of empty cardboard boxes.
• Shrink-wrap finished products.
• Palletize and organize packaged products for shipment.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Follow instructions from supervisors and production leads.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Dependable, punctual, and hardworking.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced food production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and product quality.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Good teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
• Willingness to perform repetitive tasks and physical labor.
• Previous food production or packaging experience is preferred but not required.
• Must be available to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Stand for extended periods, potentially 8 hours or more per shift.
• Walk frequently and perform repetitive movements.
• Bend, reach, twist, push, and pull as needed.
• Handle materials weighing approximately 10–50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation, as applicable to the essential job functions.
• Perform manual packaging tasks in a production environment.

Dress Code and Food Safety Requirements

Employees must follow all company hygiene and food safety policies.

• White clothing is required.
• Non-slip shoes are required.
• No jewelry is permitted in the production area.
• Nails must meet company food safety standards.
• Fake eyelashes are not permitted.
• Required PPE, such as gloves, hairnets, and masks when applicable, must be worn as directed.
