Field Service Technician, BU Location: Sacramento, CA, US; San Leandro, CA, US Position Type: Professional Transport is at the core of modern society. Main Tasks / Responsibilities / Authorities Work safely at all times, adhering to VCES application safety policies and all Company policies, procedures, standards and values. Diagnose, test and repair heavy equipment and related machinery with knowledge and proficiency. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics for Volvo product lines and systems. Timely complete and submit work orders and warranty claims with detailed descriptions as directed. Provide professional customer service regarding equipment problems and options to fix them. Confirm equipment function after repair. Provide telephone support to customers for troubleshooting, as directed. Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Work independently or in a team, as directed. Flexibility to work overtime and occasionally stay overnight to complete assigned tasks, as needed. Maintain and secure all necessary tools at all times. Perform other duties as directed. Required Knowledge and Experience High School diploma or GED. Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on construction-related equipment. Computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft products. Valid California Driver’s License with a good driving record. Frequent travel. Physical Requirements (e.g. mobility) Manual dexterity for operating machinery and computers. Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing, frequent stooping, bending, crouching, and overhead reaching; occasional climbing of stairs, steps, or step‑ladder. Occasional lifting, pulling, carrying, or pushing objects or materials over 50 lbs; frequently up to 30 lbs. Work occasionally around loud, noisy, and dusty equipment and environments. Safe and proper handling of pneumatic and electric tools. Compensation Base pay $38.00–$51.00 per hour, with bonus eligibility where applicable.
