Warehouse Checker

The Warehouse Checker plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and compliance of all shipments and warehouse operations. This position focuses on verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, supporting cross-dock activities, and maintaining an organized and efficient loading process. The Warehouse Checker helps uphold precise receiving procedures, timely processing, and adherence to quality standards, directly contributing to the overall success and reliability of the warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, including quantities, item descriptions, and documentation.
• Perform quality checks on products and materials to ensure they meet established standards and compliance requirements.
• Support cross-dock operations by confirming correct routing, labeling, and staging of freight for outbound loading.
• Maintain accurate receiving processes, including recording and updating inventory data in warehouse systems.
• Conduct cycle counts and assist with regular inventory control activities to minimize discrepancies and stock variances.
• Label and organize materials and products in the stockroom and warehouse to support efficient stocking and retrieval.
• Use RF scanners and other warehouse technology to track, scan, and verify inventory and shipments.
• Perform data entry related to shipping, receiving, and inventory management in computer systems, including SAP where applicable.
• Assist with shipping and receiving functions, including preparing orders, checking paperwork, and coordinating loading and unloading.
• Handle customer inquiries related to shipments, inventory, and product availability with professional customer service.
• Support material handling activities, ensuring products are moved, staged, and stored safely and efficiently.
• Help maintain a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse environment, particularly in loading and cross-dock areas.

Essential Skills

• Experience with stockroom operations, including stocking and inventory handling.
• Proficiency in inventory control and inventory management processes.
• Hands-on experience in shipping and receiving functions.
• Ability to perform accurate cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
• Strong computer skills and ability to perform data entry with attention to detail.
• Experience using RF scanners for tracking and verifying inventory and shipments.
• Ability to perform quality checks and verify compliance with warehouse standards.
• Material handling experience in a warehouse or cross-dock environment.
• Customer service skills, including handling customer inquiries related to shipments and inventory.
• Familiarity with SAP or similar warehouse management or ERP systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in roles such as Inventory Control or Stocking Clerk is highly beneficial.
• Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse or cross-docking operation.
• Comfort working with labeling systems and organized stockroom practices.
• Ability to work accurately in a high-volume environment with tight deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and inventory records.

Work Environment

The role is based in a nonclimate-controlled, fast-paced cross-docking warehouse environment. Team members work around active loading and unloading areas, moving freight and materials efficiently throughout the facility. The setting is dynamic and time-sensitive, requiring focus, awareness, and adaptability to changing priorities. Appropriate warehouse attire and safety-conscious behavior are important to remain comfortable and protected while working in this operational environment.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
