Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Tennessee license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: - Driver License is required for RN/LPN/PTs working on a compact license. - Ascension Health does not accept vaccine/TDAP declinations. - Ascension EKG Exam required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80%, 2 attempts allowed. - Ascension Medical Surgical Exam required during onboarding; minimum 80% score, 2 attempts allowed.

Special Requests: - Current Ascension employees cannot apply for travel roles. Candidates need to have employment separation for at least 6 months to be considered for a travel position. - In order to receive travel rate, clinician’s claimed residence must match address on driver’s license.

Unit Details: - Post-op surgical care unit for general surgery patients. - Frequent diagnoses include bowel obstruction, wound infection, gastrointestinal cancers, and morbid obesity. - Regularly cares for overflow medical and surgical patients from throughout the hospital. - Patients must be hemodynamically stable and not require mechanical ventilation. - Adult patient population, ages 18+. - Surgical residents help cover most surgeons 24 hours a day.

Floating Requirements: - Floating to different units or facilities may be required based on staffing needs, patient census, and acuity. Travelers will always be notified before their scheduled shift if a float assignment is required.
