Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Sign on Bonus

Our organization, Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care, is dedicated to providing exceptional urgent care services across Connecticut. We are hiring experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners with urgent care, emergency room, or acute family medicine experience who treat both adult and pediatric patients. Job Summary Urgent Care Advanced Practitioners deliver a wide variety of clinical services, treating acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu‑like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections. Working in collaboration with physicians, you must assess patients accurately, identify serious conditions, and direct them to the emergency department when necessary. Responsibilities Examining and treating patients Taking medical histories Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X‑rays Making diagnoses and prescribing medications Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting Recording progress notes for follow‑up patients Educating and counseling patients Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients Giving vaccinations and referring patients to additional care Shift Details Providers will work anticipated 8‑ or 12‑hour shifts, scheduled by an authorized GoHealth representative. All other duties may be assigned as needed. Requirements Education : Bachelor’s Degree required for Physician Assistants; Master’s Degree required for Nurse Practitioners Experience : One year of full‑time experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care. Consideration for two years of Family Medicine experience. Licenses/Certifications : National certification and active state medical licensure. Knowledge & Skills : Experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred. Proficiency with office procedures (suturing, splinting, casting, etc.). Preliminary reading of EKGs and X‑rays required. Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting. Knowledge of electronic medical records. Strong listening, communication, and customer‑service skills. Preferred Qualifications Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records.
