Bookkeeper/Staff Accountant

Phoenix Pro Connect is assisting a fast-growing CPA firm in Fort Lauderdale looking to expand their practice by adding a skilled Bookkeeper/Staff Accountant to their team.

We are seeking a knowledgeable accounting professional with a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting to support a dynamic and growing practice.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform after-the-fact monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting services, including client communication to complete tasks.
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Prepare and file payroll taxes on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including year-end tie-outs to tax returns.
  • Handle workers' compensation and general liability audits as needed.
  • Assist with additional accounting and administrative tasks as required.
  • Respond promptly to IRS notices and ensure timely resolutions.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3+ years of accounting experience is required.
  • Prior experience in public accounting is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
  • QuickBooks Pro Advisor certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
