Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and NC licensure.

Details

• Respiratory Care department at a 438-licensed bed hospital with Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center, and Level III NICU designations
• Adult patient population with an average of 300+ patients per day
• 12-hour night shift, 1900-0700, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call requirements for travelers
• Required to float within scope of practice to Region 2 facilities including Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, any Freestanding ED within Region, and Central Division (CMC Main, CMC Mercy, Levine Children's Hospital)
• Travelers will work 75% of holidays
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Department equipment includes Servo ventilators (I, U, Airs), Trilogy, ResMed AirCurve, HiFlow, Airvo, NOXbox, and bubble CPAP

Requirements

• RRT certification required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NC state licensure required
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience required
• Minimum 12 months of core work experience in unit specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
• Experience with critical care, ED, and progressive care settings
• Proficiency in all floor therapies including BiPAP, CPAP, vents, and breathing treatments
• EPIC EMR experience required
• First-time travelers will be considered
• 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across critical care, ED, and progressive care areas
• Work closely with Respiratory Care leadership and staff
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation
• Schedule follows a 6-week cycle
• Royal blue scrub color required

• Strong emphasis on teamwork and adherence to facility culture and values
• Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; any shortfall in contracted hours must be made up by extending the contract
• Clinical interview required
• Candidates must reside outside a 70-mile radius from the facility to qualify for the position
• Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
