Duties

Help

You will serve as a Victim Witness Assistance Program Manager and be responsible for managing the day to day operation of the Victim Witness Assistance Program (VWAP), cases, guidance, and training.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

• Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements in a criminal justice setting.
• Conducting legal research using automated files and databases.
• Preparing statistical analyses and legal reports.
• Providing leadership to a program or project.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

• Experience in a state, federal, or military criminal justice system demonstrating the ability to interpret laws, regulations and identifying the tasks required by those laws and regulations.
• Utilizing or populating files and databases involving criminal-justice related information.
• Direct involvement in preparing reports to State or Federal agencies or to Congress regarding criminal justice-related data.
• Leading a team or project involving members representing diverse roles within the criminal justice system.
