Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring a PA or compact license and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Telemetry monitoring performed on the unit
• Patient care includes IV therapy, blood product administration, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, oxygen management), gastrointestinal care (feeding tubes, colostomy/ileostomy), and renal/GU management (CBI, pre/post hemodialysis)
• Cardiac monitoring responsibilities include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Charting system experience preferred but any EMR background accepted

Requirements

• Active PA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• One supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration

• PA fingerprinting must be completed in Pennsylvania; candidates should be prepared to complete this process promptly upon signing a contract
• Childline registration and lab work must also be completed promptly after signing a contract; detailed instructions will be provided by the credentialing team
• Former permanent or per diem employees of Penn Highlands Healthcare must have been separated for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler; any prior permanent employment with Penn Highlands Healthcare must be disclosed
• Preferred skills include port access/management, central line blood draws, peripheral and PICC line care, HFNC management, bowel obstruction and ostomy care, CBI, renal failure management, CVA care, heparin and cardiac drip management (no titration), use of Rapid Response/Code teams, and isolation precautions/PPE
