Job Title: Accounts Receivable Analyst

Location: Sugar Land, TX

Compensation: $27.00 - $28.00 per hour

Benefits: This position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Analyst to join our client's team in Sugar Land. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounts receivable operations by analyzing customer accounts, processing billing transactions, reconciling payments, researching discrepancies, and ensuring the accuracy of customer account activity. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and experienced working in a fast-paced accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable Operations

• Process customer invoices, credits, and adjustments accurately and in a timely manner.
• Monitor customer account activity to ensure accurate billing and payment application.
• Review customer accounts and research discrepancies related to invoices and payments.
• Assist with customer account maintenance and ensure account information remains current.
• Maintain accurate accounts receivable records and supporting documentation.

Analysis & Reconciliations

• Perform customer account reconciliations and resolve outstanding discrepancies.
• Research unapplied cash, short payments, overpayments, and billing variances.
• Reconcile accounts receivable balances and assist with month-end close activities.
• Analyze customer payment trends and identify opportunities to improve processes.
• Prepare reports and schedules to support accounting and management.

Reporting & Process Support

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze accounts receivable data and prepare reporting.
• Create and maintain spreadsheets using PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and XLOOKUPs.
• Partner with internal departments to resolve billing and payment-related issues.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation.
• Support continuous process improvements and additional accounting projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Accounts Receivable experience required.
• Strong account reconciliation and payment reconciliation experience.
• Experience researching billing discrepancies and unapplied cash.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and XLOOKUPs.
• ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar) preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
