Offshore Production Mechanic

Position Summary

GOM Administration, LLC is seeking an experienced Offshore Production Mechanic to join our offshore operations team. This position is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment on offshore production facilities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maximizing equipment reliability, minimizing production downtime, and maintaining compliance with all company and regulatory safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on offshore production equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain reciprocating compressors, gas turbines, centrifugal pumps, diesel engines, generators, and other rotating equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical failures involving hydraulic systems, cranes, compressors, and auxiliary equipment.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) activities and document completed work accurately.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Coordinate with production personnel to safely return equipment to service following maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and assist with inventory management of spare parts and mechanical components.
• Ensure compliance with BSEE regulations, SEMS requirements, company policies, and safe work practices.
• Participate in emergency response activities and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical or vocational training in mechanical maintenance is preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of mechanical maintenance experience , with offshore oil and gas experience strongly preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of:
  • High-pressure gas compressors
  • Gas turbines
  • Diesel engines
  • Centrifugal and reciprocating pumps
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Rotating and reciprocating equipment
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Basic computer proficiency, including maintenance management software (CMMS), is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and platform structures.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and offshore marine environments.
• Ability to work a 14/14 offshore rotation.
