About the Position

Job Title: CST/ORT Profession: Surgical Technologist Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care experience License: NBSTA and DORA Certifications Certifications: BLS Description: This position is for a Surgical Technologist specializing in the Operating Room. The main unit consists of 23 operating rooms with a staff of 70. Typical staffing includes a charge nurse, several RNs, and CNAs during the day shift. Patient ratios are maintained at 1:1. The unit primarily handles elective surgical cases across various specialties including orthopedic, spine, general, cardiovascular, plastics, gynecology, robotics, and urology. Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months of recent acute care CST hospital experience. Flexibility and a strong emphasis on patient care are essential. Call is required, with a response time of within 30 minutes. Weekend shifts may include second call responsibilities, with the possibility of first call for 1-2 shifts. The work environment is collaborative, focusing on elective cases with no trauma involved.
