Job Description

The Janitorial Worker provides daily cleaning and sanitation support for high-traffic areas throughout the facility. This role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment by following standardized cleaning procedures, properly using cleaning chemicals and equipment, and ensuring all assigned areas consistently meet cleanliness standards.

Shift :

• Morning shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)

Responsibilities

• Provide daily cleaning support to high-traffic areas of the building as designated by the supervisor.

• Stock restrooms with toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissue, and soap to ensure continuous availability of supplies.

• Sweep, vacuum, wipe, and mop floors in storage units, hallways, restrooms, elevators, and other common areas.

• Dust furniture, walls, fixtures, and equipment, including moving and rearranging furniture as needed to clean thoroughly.

• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.

• Ensure that all cleaning supplies and chemicals are stored in a safe and secure area at all times.

• Complete all cleaning tasks in accordance with standardized company cleaning processes and quality standards.

• Follow established procedures for the safe use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.

• Attend regular staff meetings and required in-service training sessions to stay current on procedures and expectations.

• Follow basic work routines, schedules, and standards in the application of daily tasks.

• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward cleaning and maintenance issues, with limited need for independent discretion.

• Communicate any maintenance or safety issues observed in the work area to the appropriate personnel.

Essential Skills

• 1–2 years of previous sanitation or janitorial experience.

• Demonstrated experience with janitorial duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and general clean-up.

• Experience in cleaning and maintaining restrooms, hallways, elevators, and other high-traffic areas.

• Ability to follow standardized cleaning processes and established work routines.

• Ability to follow procedures for the safe use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.

• Basic problem-solving skills using existing procedures for straightforward issues.

• Reliability in adhering to assigned schedules and completing tasks as directed.

• High attention to detail to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.

• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving furniture as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.

• Previous housekeeping or facility cleaning experience in a similar environment is a plus.

• Strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision once trained.

• Willingness to attend and participate in regular staff meetings and training sessions.

• Good communication skills to interact with supervisors and team members.

Work Environment

This position is based in an air-conditioned, onsite work environment. Work is performed indoors within office and facility spaces, including restrooms, hallways, elevators, and storage areas. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with multiple shifts available: first shift typically from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., second shift typically from 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., and some locations operating approximately 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The role involves regular use of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and power equipment, following safety procedures at all times. Attire should be practical and appropriate for janitorial work, allowing safe and comfortable movement while performing cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.
