Job Title: Licensing EngineerLocation: Rockville, MD or Chicago, ILPay Rate: $95,000 to $161,000Employment Type: Direct HireBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Vacation, Relocation Assistance, and more!Apply now, read the job details by scrolling down Double check you have the necessary skills before sending an application.ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIESWe are seeking a Licensing Engineer for an advanced reactor technology company which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in NRC licensing support, regulatory documentation, and technical writing looking to further their career in advanced reactor licensing.Support NRC interactions and licensing submissions for advanced reactor projects, including construction permit audits and responses to regulatory inquiriesAuthor and prepare technical documentation for NRC review, including topical reports, white papers, and regulatory submissionsCollaborate with engineering teams to gather technical information and support development of licensing documentationStay current with evolving NRC regulatory guidance, executive orders, and industry standards for advanced reactor designsContribute to establishing and refining licensing processes and procedures for a developing advanced reactor programESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree (or higher)5+ years of licensing engineering experienceExperience working in the nuclear/energy or highly regulated industriesDemonstrated direct NRC interface in licensing, engineering, quality assurance, or technical writingStrong technical writing skills and knowledge of NRC regulatory guidance (10 CFR Parts 50 and 53) relevant to advanced reactor licensingBONUS QUALIFICATIONSExperience with NUREG-1537 or research/test reactor licensingFamiliarity with NRC codes and standards (ACI, ANS/ANSI, ASME, IEEE) and project management software such as Primavera P6Background from regulated industries (aerospace, advanced reactor safety analysis, quality assurance, or prior NRC employment) with strong communication skillsWHY AVERRO?Averro is a veteran-owned staffing and solutions firm connecting top talent with cutting-edge companies.
