Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for an adult to geriatric population on a cardiac stepdown/overflow IMCU unit with a 1:5–6 patient ratio across a 32-bed unit
• Manage cardiac conditions including CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias (stable A-Fib, SVT, Bradycardia), post cardiac cath, and TR Band management
• Administer and monitor continuous IV drip medications including cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin), diuretics (Bumex, Lasix), anticoagulants (Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin), and insulin drips
• Care for patients with pulmonary conditions (COPD, pulmonary edema, PE, DVT), renal conditions, DKA, and surgical patients (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains)
• Apply arrhythmia management skills including cardioversion; perform duties across the full Med/Surg scope as needed
• Float within the facility within scope of practice as needed; work assigned holidays per facility policy

Required Qualifications

• Active Georgia RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Prior travel nursing experience required; experience managing continuous IV drip medications (cardiac drips, anticoagulants, insulin drips) must be confirmed at time of submission
• Proficiency with basic arrhythmia recognition and TR Band management required
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic EMR preferred; familiarity with Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
• Background in overflow IMCU or stepdown environments with exposure to vascular, orthopedic, or stroke patient overflow
• Comfort working every other weekend and covering assigned major holidays as scheduled
